TRAXXLok Grinding Segments
SELECTING THE DIAMOND TOOL
After determining the condition and hardness of the material to be ground, select a tool from the following.
The range includes PCD Roughing and heavy removal tools, diamond segments for all roughing to smoothing applications, resin polishing tools and all necessary chemicals to assist in the sealing, hardening and ultra polishing of all surfaces. Our quick release and connect TRAXXLOX system is compatible with most major machines on the market today.
STEP ONE
For extreme hard surfaces or for removing epoxies, paints and some grouts, PCD diamond segments may be the best choice.
STEP TWO
If moving directly to sintered diamond segments, select the bond hardness from the charts below.
Always refer to the TRAXX Chemicals section during this procedure, for grouting, surface hardening and enhacing, and sealing recomendations.
STEP THREE
Now select from our two performance series available - 600 series or 800 series. 600 series have 13mm diamond height for economic grinding on all materials. All 800 series segments are a full 13mm diamond height and designed to provide premium performance and low cost grinding.
STEP FOUR
You can now select from single or double segment plates. The latter is recommended when high powered machines are in use or where softer grinding conditions are encountered.
STEP FIVE
Finally, select the appropriate mesh or grit size for job specification. You can select from M16#, (10-20 grit), M24#, M40#, M60#, M80# and M120#. The lower the number the coarser the mesh size and the greater the stock removal will be. The higher the number, the smoother the surface finish will be.
Then, select the BOND (the metal material that encapsulates the diamond). SOFT bonds (Gold) are designed for grinding the HARDEST materials and HARD bonds (Black) for the soft, abrasive materials.
Refer to the Bond selection chart shown under features. Click to enlarge.
